This panoramic multi-shot photo looks amazing. Last September at Photokina exhibition in Köln DE I saw a photographer demonstrate how you take photos like this and how you semi-automatic can stitch them together afterwards. I learned that it is best when people/things do not move around, otherwise they might show up at several positions in the final image ;-).
Perhaps somebody knows this. In front of Obama there are two opaque tilted plates to the left and right of him. I have seen these at other speeches as well. What are they called? What are the function? Is the text of the speech projected there? Are they rear mirrors?
